Russia – Japan Business Dialogue

16 December 2016 on the sidelines of the visit to Japan by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, Russia — Japan Business Dialogue Forum was held in Tokyo.

With support from the governments of Russia and Japan, the event was co-organized by the Russia — Japan Business Council, All Russia Public Organization «Delovaya Rossiya», Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, All Russia Public Organization of SMEs «OPORA ROSSII», Japan’s business associations KEIDANREN, ROTOBO and JETRO.

Representatives of public authorities, private sector and academia of both countries were among the guests and speakers in the Russia — Japan Business Dialogue. The main themes of the plenary session and panel discussions addressed development of economic cooperation between Russia and Japan at all levels and in multiple industries, implementation of the agreements reached, prospects for launching new bilateral cooperation programs.

During the panel discussion on Russia and Japan cooperation in the field of advanced technologies ombudsman for e-trade in Russia, executive director of Association of Electronic Trading Platforms Iliia Dimitrov spoke of advanced IT solutions employing Big Data analytics and endeavoring to eliminate the language barrier in cross-border economic cooperation. «Through the Seldon.Basis online platform, a business solution produced by the Russian IT developer, one can access information on more than 20 million Russian companies in 12 languages, including the Japanese language. The Seldon.News service in the real time mode provides analytics for the customized news content. While the multilingual platform Seldon.Pro can offer customized procurement and bidding solutions based on the supply and demand in the Russian B2B and B2G e-market, which makes part of the electronic economy», Mr Dimitrov said.

President of ABBYY Group Sergey Andreev equally noted the importance of Big Data processing and analytics for strategic development of economies.

More than 70 cooperation agreements were signed between Russian and Japanese companies during the Russia — Japan Business Dialogue in Tokyo.
